The Lafayette recreation centers recreation area is undergoing a renaissance.
The recreational center at 5100 South and 5100 West is now home to a new game called “Super Mario Bros.,” and the old playground in the heart of the center, where many kids and adults play, is a thriving spot.
But there’s another big change in Lafayette: The city is closing its recreation centers.
The Lafayette Recreation Center at 5200 South and 5000 West is being converted to a recreational center.
It will have to be rebuilt and reopened as a community center or it will lose its designation as a recreation center, the city said in a news release.
It also said that Lafayette Recreation Centers recreation center in the city of Lafayette, La., which was one of the largest recreation centers in the country in 2015, will close down and will be replaced with a new facility.
The Lafayette Recreation Association announced the plan for the new facility in a letter to the city council.
It said that, in the near future, the new recreation center will serve as the primary location for the creation of the new Lafayette Recreation Alliance, an umbrella group that will represent all of the recreational centers in Lafayette.
The group plans to open its first meeting on March 11.
